Sustainability is important to us

Guiding Principle: Sustainability

We understand sustainability as future-oriented action that combines environmental responsibility, social justice, and economic prudence. Our goal is to conserve resources through conscious decisions, promote fair working and living conditions, and contribute to a liveable future for generations to come. In doing so, we focus on transparency, innovation, and collaborative partnerships with all stakeholders.

We view sustainability as a continuous process that shapes our thinking and actions at every level. We integrate environmental, social, and economic responsibility into our decisions and consistently strive for a balanced, long-term benefit for people, the environment, and society.

ibex fairstay

ibex fairstay accompanies lodging companies and restaurants on their way to a sustainable company management. Restaurants, Hotels and other forms of accommodation which surpass their responsibility for sustainable action will be rewarded. The integral support contains the five areas such as management, ecology, regionalism, social awareness and economic efficiency. With the help of a measure catalogue as well as supported calculations and analyses practical improvement possibilities are indicated. Depending on their sustainability performance, the companies are awarded different rating levels. The unique branch solution is recognised for the "Swisstainable Level III – leading" by the competence centre for sustainability (KONA) of the Swiss tourism federation (STV_FST).

Swisstaibable

We are part of the sustainability programme Swisstainable and classified at level III – leading. The sustainability programme Swisstainable unites businesses and organizations along the entire Swiss tourism sector. With our participation, we commit ourselves to continuous sustainable business development, we pursue measures in the field of sustainability and thus make a concrete contribution to sustainable tourism in Switzerland.

Water for Water

Tap water is valuable and not something that hundreds of millions of people can take for granted. Together with the non-profit organization Water for Water (WfW), we are committed to promoting the value of clean water and raising awareness among our guests. Our guests enjoy fresh tap water instead of bottled water, thereby automatically contributing to greater environmental protection. For every glass of tap water consumed, we work with WfW to support social drinking water and sanitation projects in Africa.

Training and Education

We train young people in cooperation with the bvz Foundation. The «Berufslehrverband» Foundation aims, through vocational training, to support the integration of young people into working life—especially the integration of less-supported young people and migrants.

Local Culture

Used clothing, fabric remnants, and existing materials are constantly being transformed into new costumes and imaginative characters. Stage sets are further developed, redesigned, and revitalized. New spaces and stories emerge from existing elements. In this way, reuse becomes a creative process that conserves resources and stimulates the imagination.

At the same time, sustainability is also practiced in the development of children and young people: theater strengthens self-confidence, creativity, and social responsibility. What begins on stage continues to have a long-term effect far beyond the performance.
